Hijab, Jilbab, Khimar

What is the difference Hijab, Jilbab, Khimar ?

Well, that's what we will discuss in a moment.

Hijab according to the Quran means cover in general. Allah SWT. in the Al Ahzabayat 58, ordered to the companions of the Prophet, there was a time they ask for an item on the Prophet's wife asked from behind a veil. so, hijab means common, can be a barrier curtains, etc.

So it is sometimes hijab, intended for the meaning of the veil. The other meaning of hijab is something that covers or hinders him.

Hijab is also commonly used as a barrier interaction while Shura. Did anyone ever see the meeting by using the hijab? Usually with a cloth barrier in the middle of the room.

Hijab is derived from the word meaning hajaban cover, in other words al-Hijab is an object that covers something.

In this case Shaykh Al Bani rahimahullah said, "Every Jilbab is Hijab, but not all that Hijab is Jilbab, as they seem."

continue to Hijab. This was stated in the command of Allah, Al-Ahzab verse 59: "Let their outer garments over their bodies ..."

In the terminology, which is considered the standard dictionary in Arabic, will we find the following definition of hijab "Hijab means shawl, or wide clothing worn to cover the woman, the chest and the back of his body"

Can we take the conclusion that Jilbab in general is wide clothing, loose and cover all parts of the body. As summed up by Al Qurthuby: "Jilbab is clothing that covers the whole body". Except face and hands.

Jilbab in the Al-Ahzab (33): 59, is actually a loose shirt that covers the entire female body from top to bottom.

Already evident, the difference between the hijab and jilbab? Then return it to its original word in Al-Ahzab: 59.
"Berjilbablah"

Then Khimar, is that commonly called the Veil. Khimar commands contained in Surah An-Nur verse 31.

Khimar or veil is what can cover the head, neck and chest without covering the face (Al-Baghdadiy, 1991)

So clearly the difference between the Hijab, Hijab & Khimar are still loose and close berkhimar entirely new meaning.

Because Hijab is not just enough to cover the head to cover the chest, it protects the entire body except the face and hands.
